During the course,
students will explore Canada and Australia through  selected regional and cultural aspects; they
will explore the role of children and the young in Canadian and Australian
history and present; and they will be guided to understand selected
contemporary issues in culture and social life of Canada and Australia.

     In
the end of the course, students should be able to  DISCUSS selected contemporary issues of
Canada and Australia; UNDERSTAND the role of historical and geographical
contexts in the making of modern Canada and Australia; and they should be able
to CONNECT selected texts/films/songs about Australian and Canadian children
and the young to the context of history and literature of English speaking
countries.

     The course is an extention of lectures in
British history and British literature.
