This course provides students with general background of literary theory and criticism. With help of primary materials they will learn to approach literature from various points of view and with different aims in mind. The course should contribute to improvement of students’ interpretation skills and their better understanding and enjoyment of the works of literature. During the course students will acquire enough knowledge to individually approach their own materials and use them to create an academically relevant text with an appropriate format, style, textual support and argumentation.
