Students will work on improving their English in all four major skill groups: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Classes will move quickly through the coursebooks, Inside Out Upper-Intermediate and Advanced. As students are training to be teachers, they will be expected to take an active role in their own learning, with an eye toward understanding how to share information with their peers, and later their own students.
The syllabus is drawn around units 12 to 14 of Inside Out Upper-Int and units 1 and 2 of Inside Out Adv. One written assignment must be satisfactorily completed during the course and one progress test passed.
Students must demonstrate a good command of use of English at an advanced level during the final credit test (comprising Use of English, Listening and Reading papers, passmark 70%).
