The course provides a general introduction to the literature for young readers in English, with a special interest in Young Adult Literature. Students are asked to read, discuss and present selected texts, and study recommended resources.
In the end of the course, students should be able to DISCUSS works of children´s literature/YAL and their interaction with the reader and the context; IDENTIFY the main conventions and theories underlying selected genres of oral literature and intentional literature; ANALYSE these theories in relation to relevant literary texts.
